Dr. Kalen Flynn is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Jane Addams College of Social Work. Her practice experience includes working as a case manager with youth dually involved in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems, as an advocate for juvenile justice policy reform, and as a researcher at American Institutes for Research. Her research is centered around understanding the impact and meaning of space and place for adolescent development, advancing theory and research on violence, and integrating qualitative and spatial research methodologies.
